Faculty Profile:  Suzanne Bakken, RN, DNSc, FAAN



Suzanne Bakken, RN, DNSc, FAAN, is Associate Professor, Nursing and Medical Information Science, at University of California, San Francisco. Her research interests are at the intersection of informatics and outcomes research. Recent NIH-funded research projects have focused on informatics building blocks for evidence-based practice with a particular emphasis on terminology and standardized outcome measures.  She is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and American College of Medical Informatics.  Dr. Bakken has spoken on informatics-related topics internationally and has published extensively.

She is a member of the Board of Directors, American Medical Informatics Association; American Nurses Association Steering Committee on Nursing Practice Information Infrastructure; SNOMED Editorial Board; and Health Level 7.
