| Data Entry
Filemaker uses a simple rolodex model for navigating between records in a database table. Like many DBMS, the actual table is not presented. Filemaker instead, presents the table data in different views, called layouts. You can create layouts that look like a table or layouts that look like the entry form. Layouts are used to print labels, printed forms, and invoices. They are just different views of the underlying table. Users can create as many different layouts as they wish. Use the tab key to move between the fields in the entry layout at right and enter the following data for the first record. Note if you try to modify the P_ID field that you will not be allowed to do so. If you can, return to the Field Definitions and set the field options so you cannot. When you have completed this entry. Go to the Mode menu and select New Record and add the following information as three new records in the database.
You will now have four records in your table. |
