Modeling of Biological Systems
A Multidisciplinary Approach

March 24 through May 4, 2001

Overview of the MOBS Course

The MOBS Course, through a multi-disciplinary approach, brings together leading modelers with students from biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics and engineering eager to apply quantitative methods to questions in molecular, cellular, organismal and population scales.

The MOBS Course is organized into thematic cassettes that in Spring 2000 include: Multi-disciplinary Introduction, Fundamentals of Modeling, Cell Structure and Dynamics, and Molecualr Structure and Dynamics.

The MOBS Course will provide extensive didactic and hands-on training opportunities for students in a variety of areas of active research. The MOBS Course enrollment will be limited to a maximum of twenty students. Students in 2000 will also participate in the MOBS 2001 Symposium to be held during the next MOBS Course.
